Indications
• Keppra (levetiracetam) is primarily indicated for the treatment of epilepsy. It is used as:
– Monotherapy in the treatment of partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults and adolescents from 16 years of age with newly diagnosed epilepsy.
– Adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults, adolescents, children, and infants from 1 month of age with epilepsy.
– Adjunctive therapy for myoclonic seizures in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy.
– Adjunctive therapy for primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age with idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
Patient Counseling Information
– Take Keppra exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
– Do not stop taking Keppra abruptly without consulting your doctor, as this may increase the risk of seizures.
– Inform your healthcare provider if you experience any significant mood changes, unusual thoughts, or behaviors.
